Troop Quilt
I bought 2 yards of brown felt.
Then I bought several felt squares.
Each girl picked their favorite
color of felt. Then they sewed
on buttons & other pieces of felt,
and embroidered the squares.
These were some of the
requirements for the
"Stitch It" Try-It.
Then I sewed green binding around
the brown piece of felt.
I sewed "Brownie Troop 1168"
on the top of the brown felt,
and then sewed each girl's
decorated felt square onto
the brown felt.
Lummi Sticks
Buy wooden dowels
(at least 3/4" thick.)
Saw into 12 inch sections.
You will need two for
each girl. Sand them.
Then the girls can color
them with markers.
Use them as rhythm sticks.
Have each girl make up
a rhythm for the troop
to try.
Brownie hands
Purchase several tan, cream,
pink, and brown pieces of felt.
Let each girl pick which
color felt they want
for their hand. Have
each girl chose a buddy.
Buddies trace around
each others' hand on the felt.
Each girl cuts out their
felt hand, and then glues down
the fingers in the
brownie promise position.
If you wish, you can
make small cards with
the Girl Scout Promise on it,
and glue one on each felt hand.
Trefoil Name Tags
Print out Trefoil pattern onto
pieces of cardboard.
Cut out. Have girls
trace the cardboard
trefoils templates to make name tags
on construction paper.
Have them decorate
their name tags however they want.
Have them cover their
name tags in contact paper.
Use masking tape to tape
a safety pin on the back.
Brownie Ring
Have each girl pick
their favorite color
construction paper.
Pair off into buddies.
Have each pair of girls
trace each others' hands.
Have each girl
write their names on and
decorate their hands. Glue all of
the hands in a circle on a piece of
posterboard.
